No need for surgery, and the plaster should come off in three weeks. Just in time for school!! I am now trying to convince Mr B that what we need to cheer us all up is a super expensive South African safari.
Yes, a dagger would be fabulous, but I have to keep telling myself the honour is in the nomination - especially as the competition is pretty stiff.

Growing up I spent most of my summer holidays in hospital having various things done; no missing school for me!
A dagger! How great would that be?!Failing that, I do have a nice letter-opener that might fool people.

You want me to be shorter? I'm afraid I'm with JK on this - I don't do short.

There are some things in life to which the old maxim, small is beautiful do not apply. In my view, three things that should never be small are 1) books, 2) diamonds and 3) the first glass of Chardonnay on a Friday evening.

I'll get back to work now. You'll remember, no doubt, instructing me to write an entirely new scene, with lots of action and atmosphere, not to mention a major coming of age moment for the heroine, slap bang in the middle of an already complete plot. And you wonder why we dread editing season.

Lots of love
