I heard it from what I've always assumed to be a very good authority. It simply never occurred to me it might be an urban (rural?) myth but I guess it's possible. <br/>

By the way, thanks for your e mail, Alan, and well done for spotting my "deliberate" mistake in Sacrifice. I'm not a horsy person myself but am surrounded by them. You'd have thought someone would have pointed it out before hundreds of thousands of copies were distributed worldwide! In laws, eh!   <br/>

I agree, this story should have been included.  All the way in Kansas, I had heard a very similiar story that was supposed to have happened around here!  Is this an urban myth?!  In any case, it was a happy ending for the badger, and teaches everyone:  not to mess with badgers! (I love them, by the way, and collect them in figurines).  I also LOVE your books and cannot wait to read BLOOD HARVEST.  Though American, I am married to an Englishman, and love the UK, have spent much time there (though never enough), and savour all your descriptions of the countryside.
